Sparkle with the Holidays!

The smokey eye is always a hit for the holidays. With having your eyes done up, remember to perfect the look with a flawless foundation, blush and lips. This will give a more polished, finished look.

Here is your step-by-step guide to the perfect smokey eye (and remember to Blend, Blend, Blend!)

1 – Prime eyelids with a lid primer, or concealor.

2 – Use a neutral colour all over from lash to brow (this will be your highlight, so if you want a silvery highlight then use a silver shadow).

3 – Starting with a little colour and adding more as you go, blend your darker shade back and forth from your outer eye and along your crease. Keep adding in more of the darker shade until you get the intensity that you are after.

4 – Use a black liner on both top and bottom, working it into your lashes to give that sultry, smokey effect. Apply liner to the inner rims of the eyes for a more dramatic look.

5 – Curl your lashes and layer the mascara on to finish off your perfect smokey eye!

Add some glitter to the lids for a real sparkly holiday look - you can even apply some false lashes to give your eyes that extra Wow factor!

Fall Trends

As promised, here are some tips for this seasons trends!

Fall 2008 is about warmth with a pop of colour. Think autumn leaves and beautiful golden sunsets – Ivories, Golds, Reds, and Burgundies. But remember to stick to one bold colour and keep the rest soft and subtle. It’s not about being overdone, but about being fresh with a glow from within.

Get rid of your shiny lipgloss and bronzer and try some new textures – a simple, barely there lip stain with a cream blush on your cheeks. Give your eyes a smoky effect with an indigo blue rather than charcoal grey. Try a cream highlighter on your cheekbones while sweeping a peach blush on the apples of your cheeks for a natural glow. Use a shimmering gold eyeshadow layered on top of a matte brown for a more textured but luminous eye.

Remember to keep it simple and keep it clean – Experiment and have fun! A new season brings a new trend, so enjoy it while it’s here!
